Crystal Beach is perfectly named after it’s white sandy shoreline, matching that of its Caribbean sisters. The town is perfectly unique with its old fashioned, quaint feel. There’s only around 1,200 people that live here and some of the streets still remained unpaved, covered in seashells.
Here you’ll find a beautiful pier and in the evening, locals alike will gather to watch the sunset. It’s purely magnificent! The sand here reflects the sun’s rays so it remains cool and doesn’t burn your feet.
It was originally a fishing village so make sure you fit in time to set a line or two! You can fish straight from the beautiful beach or opt to stand out on the Crystal Beach pier where you’ll be greeted by local birds looking for a spare fish. It’s one of the most popular fishing spots in this small community.
At the Northern end of Crystal Beach, you’ll find the Sutherland Bayou Boat Ramp. This 5 acre boating area is fantastic as it has direct access to the Gulf. It even has it’s own bait shop here that’s open from dawn to dusk!
Alternatively you can launch your boat from nearby Pop Stansell Park. It has a boating ramp but is most popular for its fishing and waterfront location. The park boasts a beautiful long pier so there’s plenty of room for all! If you’re an animal lover I would definitely check out the dog park at Anclote River Park!
The park itself is also a great place to hang out with family and friends. Various activities are put on, such as movie nights! You’ll also find a Farmer’s market here between November and April. For the children, there’s a huge playground for them.
One quirky thing about Crystal Beach that you’ll discover quickly is that no cars are allowed! Instead, opt for a golf cart to get around this small paradise.
